Pending sales are up a whopping 38 percent and August is likely to be another strong month for home sales. “With job growth continuing to remain very strong, demand for housing is staying strong,” said David Brown of housing analyst Metrostudy Inc. “I also believe buyers understand mortgage rates are not likely to stay at the current level near historic lows forever. This along with the very low supply, creates an urgency by homebuyers,” Brown said. “Until inventory starts to rise, job growth slows or both., the market will likely remain hot.” The DFW Metroplex continues to have the biggest home price gains in the country according to CoreLogic.
